Agreement

between the Government of the

Federal Republic of Germany

and

the Government of the

People's Republic of China

on cultural cooperation

The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the

Government of the People's Republic of China,

Desiring to strengthen and develop further relations between

their two countries;

Being convinced that wide-ranging cultural cooperation

contributes to better mutual understanding and long-lasting

links of friendship;

Have agreed as follows:

Article 1

The Contracting Parties shall cooperate on the basis of equality and mutual benefit to promote a wide-ranging

cultural exchange.

Article 2

The Contracting Parties agree that cooperation shall extend to the fields of science, education, the arts, sport, the press, radio, cinema, television, language promotion, books

and publishing, young people and other social groups.
