They were all land-crossers via the Sino-Vietnamese border.

Only 1 of them had knowledge of the screening policy through radio broadcast (Radio of Singapore).

3. They had no knowledge of the following :-

(a)

mandatory repatriation;

(b) they would be placed on a deserted island after their arrival;

(c)

the 'Push-out' policy implemented by the Malaysian Government.

Three stopovers in China but they had not encountered any PRC officials.

The Sino-Vietnamese border remains normal.

6.

Total number of unaccompanied minors under the age of 18 : 2 (1B, 1G).

7.

There is no serviceman nor ex-serviceman.

8.

Hong Kong is chosen instead of other countries because of safety reason.

9.

They had not committed any offence in Vietnam.

They had not encountered other VBP on the way to HK.

11. They bought the vessel in China but they did not know the seller/owner. The vessel had

no registration number and no Chinese official was involved.
