The informant was the Vietnamese boy's (Group II) relative. The boy called BUI VAN THIN ( age 8, used to live at HAI NINH, N.VN. His father in name of BUI HANG TONG ( by boat No. L/M 1956 on 13-8-1983 and now was living in Hong Kong as a refugee. brought to China and lived with his ECV uncle at NA LI HUA QIAO FARM visited their relatives at the farm, the boy was handed over to the informant so as to come to Hong Kong for joining his father. Since then, Group II shared the same itinerary with Group I until his arrival in Hong Kong.

All of them were landcrossers from HAI NINH to DONG XING (

) of China.

Some of them went through the Vietnamese check point where they were punished with a fine of 3,000 Dongs per head.

The documents were impounded as well because they did not have any exit permit for leaving Vietnam. However, they were subsequently allowed to go through for visiting their relatives in China after enquiry. On the other hand, they encountered no problem at China side. They only paid RMB $2 as toll and then were allowed to enter DONG XING.

Three of them had knowledge of mandatory repatriation via BBC radio broadcast before their departure.

(d) the 'Push-out' policy implemented by the Malaysian Government.

One Ex-serviceman was reported.
