虎門 early morning of 9-4-90. A sailing junk and 40 litres of fuel were handed over to the escapees and they set Bail at 0900 hrs. They eventually arrived Hong Kong in the evening.

1. Three had knowledge of the screening policy before sailing through press and hearsay.

4. They were treated as locals by Chinese authority as they could speak fluent Chinese.

None had heard of the news that they would be placed on a deserted island after their arrival in Hong Kong.
