These 17 VBP, together with the ECVII of Group II, met at the railway station of HO CHI MINH CITY on 28-3-1990. They first took a train to HA NOI. After a brief stopover, they carried on their journey to HONG GAI, HA COI and MONG CAI. On 4-4-90, they crossed the Sino-Vietnamese border and reached DONG XING (東興 ), CHINA. During their stay at a local hostal (e

MAL), they were approached by a Chinese courier SHAM YING CHI (沈点忘 ). The courier promised to arrange a boat for them to go to Hong Kong. A total of five taels of gold were paid. On 6-4-90, the group was taken to a farm house at FANG CHENG (+ ) where they stayed for about 10 days. On 15-4-90, the group was led to a port near WAN QING SHA (A

) via GUANG ZHOU (m). They purchased a boat (by which they arrived Hong Kong) at RMB $4,700. On 16-4-90, at 1700 hrs they set sail from WAN QING SHA. They finally managed to arrive in Hong Kong on the following day without touching Macao.
