Group III

Informant: DANG KIM DUONG

The informant was an ECVII born in Vietnam in 1965 and he went to China in 1979 while the minor ECVII was born in Vietnam in 1975 and went to China with her parents in 1978, They were arranged to settle át JINGKOU OVERSEAS CHINESE FARM, SAN SHUI XIAN, GUANG DONG KUL 1 2

) until their recent departure. They left their farm on 19-02-90 together with a minor CII (Group IV) and 5 Vietnamese (Group II) by boat. Four days later, they reached Macau and joined Group I. Since then they shared the same voyage with Group I until their arrival in Hong Kong.

Group IV

Informant: LI BEN HUI

The informant was a minor CII from the same farm of the above ECVIIs. He was born in China in 1979. He had no knowledge of this escape but just obeyed his father to join Group II and III on 19-02-90.

From then on, he shared the same itinerary with Group III until his arrival in Hong Kong on 28-02-90.

Group V

Informant: LE VAN LAM

Originally, the group was composed of 15 persons who were either relatives or fellow-villagers. They fled DA NANG, C. VN on 28-01-90 by a C. VN type motorized wooden fishing junk, measuring 10m x 4m. order not to be intercepted by VN officials, they kept on sailing continuously in the direction of north-east. On 08-02-90, they sailed to the eastern part of HAI NAN DAO) and rested over-night. They resumed their voyage by moving in the same direction. On 17-02-90, they had to stop at an unknown beach so as to mend the leakage of their junk. Fortunately, they were discovered by a Chinese fishing junk and eight of them were allowed to put on board the said junk. They were then conveyed to MACAO on the same night. They were later on intercepted by the MACAO Police and were provided with a motorized sailing junk and departed MACAO on 19-02-90. However, : they encountered very strang wind soon after their departure from MACAO and their junk went aground at a deserted island. They stranded there for 4 days and were again conveyed to another island by a passing-by Chinese fishing junk. They then reported to the local officials and were allowed to stay there temporarily. On 28-02-90, the eight persons were arranged to join Group I at GUI SHAN DAO (#) and they subsequently arrived in Hong Kong

after a few hours' voyage.
