Ref.Compensation of Armchair Grave in
the Vincinity of Yau Yue Wan Village.
We have written to the Land Officer in 1984 to see whether or not the Grave is wanted by the Government. The reply was not in requ- ire whatsoever. Year later, we found the grave was ruined by the contractors hired by the Land Officer. We reported the case to The Police Station (Rennie's Mill), Land Office and City & New Territories Administration.
The negotiation have carried on until now for an amount of HK$450,000 to $500,000 to reconstruct a similar grave in the vinicinity. The answer is still pending and no answer. Recently, we made a protest against the Government in the presence of NEWS REPORTERS on 9 March 1990 and is seen on the NEWSPAPERS. At a later date, we made a complaint to OMELCO (File No.C795/90) in April 1990.
The Government now can only offer HK$150,000 but not on writting. Of course, we refused such an offer as a result of insufficient fund to finish this job. But, on the contrary, we offered to the Government that we can accept;-
A) Government is responsible to reconstruct the GRAVE in the
Village Vincinity as the term in "B".
or
B) A compensation of HK$500,000 we will carry out the job.
There is not a firm answer yet. Surely, we do not want the COMPENSATION to be dragged on until or after 1997.
Yours faithfully,
Manager of Armchair Grave
