Following my recent official visit to China during which I had occasion to transit through Hong Kong, I wish to express through Your Excellency my profound gratitude and appreciation to the British Government for the security arrangements that were provided to me and my wife from the moment we entered Hong Kong up to the time of our departure.
I am equally grateful for the limousine that was made available for my use during my stay in Hong Kong. Please convey to the Hong Kong authorities my sincere words of thanks for this gesture of goodwill which I will live to remember.
