a commercial broadcaster must not be subservient to advertisers but must provide a broadbased and independent radio organization which serves the public and meets their changing broadcasting needs. Despite changes in our fortunes and variations in the form and degree of competition from other communications media over the years, we have always stuck to this principle and will always do so.

We have reached a high plateau of effective and varied programming on all our three stations. If we are granted a new licence it is our determination to maintain this level of programming and our intrinsic operating standards despite any new media challenges we will have to face.

To maintain our present programming achievements is therefore our first priority.

Our second objective is our determination to further increase the Quantity of our news, information and public affairs programming.

Thirdly, it is our objective to continue to work to improve the quality of our staff and thereby further enhance the quality of the programmes and productions for which they are responsible.

Commercial Radio's future programme trends, based on our current output, are analysed in the following three schedules which cover our programmes, CRI, CRII and CRE, and project our proposed developments over the next six

years.
