Block Accounts

The Government does not intend to allow the licensee to market its services through block accounts unless all owners of undivided shares in a property have agreed following a properly organised consultation.

In addition, the

Director of Housing will not agree to the initiation of block account arrangements covering Housing Authority tenants.

Licence Exclusivity

The licences other than with respect to non-franchised telecommunications services will be exclusive for a period of 3 years.

Microwave Frequencies

A maximum of four microwave frequencies

frequencies in the 2.3 GHz band for use in the urban area, and four frequencies in the 2.1 GHZ band for use in the rural area, will be granted for a maximum of five years from the award of the licences. All eight frequencies can be used in both the urban and rural areas if an engineering solution to the problem of cross-interference can be proposed that is acceptable to the Telecommunications Authority. Some frequencies in the 17-19 GHZ band may be granted for a longer period for fixed-link relays to remote areas and

providing islands.
