John Roper told me today that he was thinking of organising a one-day study group on Hong Kong issues. He hoped to do this while Tony Galsworthy was still at Chatham House. He asked if we had any views. I said I would consult you, but personally speaking this seemed a good opportunity for us to get across our story on Hong Kong. Do you see any difficulties in this?

John Roper mentioned in passing that Yukio Sato might come from Hong Kong to attend the conference.
