The present arrangement is that DUS acts as the

Commission's representative in Hong Kong in respect of the

care and maintenance of the Cemeteries (as well as

Commonwealth War Graves and Memorials located elsewhere in

Hong Kong as notified by the Commission from time to

time.) He advises the Commission on the management of the

Cemeteries, supervises (in a loose sense) the Commission's

locally recruited staff and from time to time

time disburses

money on the Commission's behalf. He also protects the

Commission's rights to the land on which the Cemeteries

are situated. This arrangement was agreed between the

Commission and DUS and recorded by way of an exchange of

letters.
