Motor Vehicles (First Registration

Tax) Ordinance

Section 2 of the Motor Vehicles (First Registration Tax) Ordinance (Cap. 330) is amended-

(a) in the definition of "bus" by repealing "14" and substituting "16"; and (b) in the definition of "light bus" by repealing "14" and substituting “16”.

Section added

5. The following is added after section 8-

"Transitional provision regarding public and private buses

8A. Notwithstanding anything contained in this Ordinance apart from this section, a motor vehicle constructed or adapted for the carriage of 15 or 16 passengers and registered as a private bus or public bus before the commencement of the Road Traffic (Amendment) (No. 3) Ordinance 1988 (89 of 1988) shall be deemed to be a private bus or public bus, as may be appropriate.".

Road Tunnels (Government) Regulations

Regulation 2 of the Road Tunnels (Government) Regulations (Cap. 368, sub. leg.) is amended—

(a) in the definition of "bus" by repealing "14" and substituting “16”; and (b) in the definition of “light bus" by repealing "14" and substituting “16”.

7. The following is added after regulation 15-
