would be supplied under the same
conditions as they would be available
to law enforcement and judicial
authorities in the requested country.

Search and seizure
This head of assistance would permit
the issue of warrants authorising the
search of persons or premises for
things which are or contain evidence of
an offence which is the subject of an
investigation or proceeding in the
requesting country; such things could
then be seized and returned to the
requesting country. In addition things
seized pursuant to a search warrant in
relation to a criminal matter in the
requested country should be capable of
being returned to the requesting
country. This head of assistance would
be new and clearly could involve
considerable interference with the
property rights of residents of the
