Surveying, refuelling and reprovisioning will be carried out during the hours of daylight. If that cannot be managed on the day in question, the vessel and occupants will be detained separately until the next

day.

Catering

15.

Normal arrangements will apply to Military and Government

personnel taking part. C.A.S. will be responsible for the feeding of refugees/IIs from a vessel whilst it is detained in Hong Kong and will he responsible for supplying food and fuel in acorrlane with the

scales at Annex A. This fuel and food will be collected by a Marine Police vessel and CAS will make suitable arrangements for this collection.

Equipment

Special equipment is available on board every vessel involved in this operation. However, Government Dockyard or HMS Tamar will make available such other equipment as may be necessary in a particular

casc..

Handling of Vessel Cccupants

17.

These persons will fall into the category of prisonera during their time in Hong Kong, and will thus be handled securely. In particular they will not be allowed any access to their vessel until they are released in international waters. Furthermore, they are to be searched and every item of value, or that may be used to injure themselves or others is to be removed and only returned immediately prior to release. The persons will be documented in accordance with Annex B, the property of each person being listed against his name on

a piece of paper attached to the form at Annex B.
