34% of people said that the civil service was efficient, same as the figure recorded in May/June 1989. The percentage of people saying that civil servants' working attitudes were good increased from 38% in May/June 1989 to 41% in this survey.
(v) Present situation and future expectation

83% of people expressed satisfaction with the present situation. This is lower than the figure recorded in May/June 1989 (87%).

19% of people expected the situation to improve in the next 12 months. This is broadly similar to the figure recorded in May/June 1989 (21%).
