March.
British exports to Hong Kong doing well (worth over £1 billion in 1988). Also significant that although British exports direct to China have stagnated (down 108), our exports to China via Hong Kong
show a substantial increase (up 30%).
Your idea of London-based Trade Commissioner worth pursuing.
Could play valuable role in efforts to promote awareness of
potential of Hong Kong as market in its own right, as gateway
China and as base for operations in region.
