Thank you for your letter of 1 November inviting me to address
a luncheon organised by the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce during my
forthcoming visit to Hong Kong.
I would welcome this opportunity and would be delighted to accept your invitation. May I suggest, however that the luncheon might be jointly hosted by your Chamber and the British Chamber of Commerce? I think that this would be appropriate on this occasion.
I will reflect further on the theme for my speech. Your suggestion is a good one; but I would like to take a final decision
a little nearer the time.
My Office will be in touch with you about a date and other
details in due course, as soon as dates for the visit have firmed
up.
I look forward to meeting you and your colleagues in Hong Kong.
