democratic country.
Anything less will not ensure the safety of all the people
of Hong Kong. Anything less will be inconsistent with British
honour.
Stability and prosperity in Hong Kong can only be maintained
if the people here fell secure. Only on the basis of such
personal security can Hong Kong build up a democratic society in
which human rights are guaranteed.
It is four weeks since the massacres in Beijing, and yet the
British Government has done nothing to restore confidence in Hong
Kong.
It is incumbent upon Britain to provide for the security of
all the people of Hong Kong. It is incumbent upon Britain to
restore citizenship rights of all Hong Kong British nationals.
Britain should uphold its traditional
honour and devise means to overcome
difficulties may exist.
Right of abode must be restored
sense of duty and
whatever practical
immediately and
occur in
unconditionally. It cannot be put off until massacres
Hong Kong.
