connection that the promised 'flexibility' in interpreting the various UK Immigration Acts as regards Hong Kong people is going to be of the utmost importance, and it is my intention, as Chairman of Conservatives Abroad in Hong Kong, that we as an organisation will debate possible areas of flexibility at an early date, and make recommendations to you.
Finally, I very much hope that you may be able to fit in a brief meeting with at least some representatives of Conservatives Abroad in your forthcoming visit to Hong Kong (2-4 July, I believe). I shall personally be in Japan on business at that time, but I shall speak to Government House with a view to you possibly being able to fit in a half hour meeting with other members of the Committee.
