The delegation's aim is to demonstrate Hong Kong's economic value to Britain and to seek to influence the passport/nationality issue. Their programme will include meetings with the CBI, the Institute of Directors, MPs and the DTI/BOTB.

3.

I understand that the DTI intend to explore how trade between the UK and Hong Kong could be expanded. They intend to draw attention to the disappointing failure of British companies to win the cable TV project and the computerised figure print system for the police. DTI will point out that such events do not win friends
