AGREED MINUTE

CONFIDENTIAL

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs representing the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, hereafter called the Vietnamese side, and the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Hanoi representing the Government of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Hong Kong authorities, hereafter called the British side:

Desiring to create conditions for the repatriation and resettlement of Vietnamese people in Hong Kong who do not qualify for resettlement in third countries, based on the agreement which the British and Vietnamese sides signed on 26 June 1989, have entered into the following arrangements concerning the first flight.

(A)

The British side will pay a sum of money to cover some or all of the following costs depending on the exact details of each case:

Transport within Vietnam

Food

Medicines

Domestic appliances

Housing and resettlement in other places

Vocational training, job placement and production tools Administration costs

All of these costs will not be universally applicable. The level of expenditure will be based on the individual family circumstances of each repatriated person but the average level of expenditure will not exceed 620 US dollars for each repatriated person.
