(Abstract) Chinese officials responsible for the transfer of Macao have assured their Portuguese counterparts that the recent crushing of a pro-democracy movement in China would not jeopardise the terms of the 1987 transfer agreement, diplomatic sources said in Lisbon on 3rd August.
