Meeting

building armed forces closes (Excerpts)The meeting to sum up the work to build the armed forces for the past 10 years held at the National Assembly building under the chairmanship of Comrade Chea Sim, member of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the National Assembly, of the KUFNCD National Council, and of the Party Central Committee's recruitment council, ended successfully on the morning of 28th July....

Speaking on that occasion, Comrade Chea Sim exhorted all participants that upon returning to their units and localities, they should pay attention to thoroughly enhancing the propoganda on the tasks to defend the motherland and the national society's achievements in a horough manner among the masses, particularly among the youths, so that they understand this well and actively join in building the armed forces. At the same time, it is imperative to enhance the control over the forces and their living conditions as well as to stimulate vigorously the ideological and political education and training for cadres and combatants, thus enabling them to broaden their sense of responsibility for the national defence task in contribution to the successful implementation of the resolutions of the second national conference of party cadres and that of the ninth session of the Party Central Committee.
