Annex I: Method for Selecting the Chief Executive

of the Hong Kong SAR

1.

The Chief Executive shall be elected by a broadly

representative Election Committee and be

and be appointed by the

Election Committee shall be composed of 800

members representing the following sectors:

Business and financial sectors

Professional sector

sectors etc.

Members of the Legislative Council,

representatives of members of

regional and district organizations,

and deputies of the Hong Kong region to the NPC

delineation of various constituencies and the

types of organizations within each constituency as well

the number of representatives they may return to the Election Committee shall be prescribed by an electoral law

of the Hong Kong SAR.

The statutory bodies of the constituencies shall,

in accordance with the allocation of seats and election

methods prescribed by the electoral law, elect their

representatives to the Election Committee.

Members of the Election Committee shall cast their

votes in their personal capacities.
