FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE : ENQUIRY INTO HONG KONG

1.

As you know, the Secretary of State, accompanied by Mr McLaren and Mr Paul, will be giving evidence to the Foreign Affairs Committee at 10.45 am on Wednesday 14 June. The evidence session will again take place in the Grand Committee Room and will be broadcast live to Hong Kong.

2.

FCO passes will allow entrance to the Grand Committee Room but it is, of course, first of all necessary to go through the security processes at the St Stephen's entrance of the House of Commons. I suggest that all those planning to attend the evidence session should take into account the possibility that there may already be a fairly long queue at the security checkpoint when they arrive and that this may cause some delay.

I shall be waiting at the FCO slope entrance at 10.10 am in case anyone would prefer to be accompanied over to the Grand Committee Room.
