Entrepreneurs must intend to operate a business in Canada
that will employ at least one Canadian and be able to
establish a substantial interest in that business.
Investors must have a proven track record in business and
have accummulated a personal net worth of $500,000.
They
are required to invest at one of the following three
investment levels:-

$150,000 locked in for 3 years in a province which in
the previous year received fewer than 3 per cent of all business immigrants;
(b) $250,000 locked in for 3 years; or
(c)
$500,000 locked in for 5 years and a personal net
worth of $700,000. All investments must be in a project
which will be of significant economic benefit to the
province in which it is to be located and will provide employment opportunities.
Self-employed Persons are expected to establish a business that employs only themselves and which would contribute to
the economy or the cultural or artistic life of Canada.
Citizenship
4. A person can apply for Canadian citizenship if, within the four
years prior to the date of the application, he/she has been resident in Canada for three years. Any days that the person was resident
in Canada before he/she became a landed immigrant are counted as
half days towards the qualifying period of three years and no
absences of more than 183 days are allowed. After an application is
received an applicant must prove at a citizenship hearing that
he/she has an adequate knowledge of Canada and one of the two
