Our firm intention to ensure that Vietnamese boat people problem in Hong Kong should be resolved well before 1997.

retain their current status.

Modest practical assistance to enable those who return to settle successfully back into their communities. important that repatriation programme is implemented smoothly. encourage others to step forward.

ODP is a channel for legal emigration from Vietnam. come to UK under this programme are not refugees: they meet standard family reunion criteria under our immigration rules and are entitled
to enter UK.
No question of ODP being at expense of resettlement of refugees
