FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE:
INQUIRY INTO PROGRESS IN
IMPLEMENTING THE SINO-BRITISH AGREEMENT OF 1984 ON HONG KONG
1.
The Clerk to the FAC, Mr Robert Wilson, has asked if we could provide him with some suggested names of people whom the Committee might engage as Specialist Advisers to assist them with this Inquiry. He emphasised that the choice of such Advisers should be left entirely to the FAC and that we should not approach anyone ourselves. Specialist Advisers to the FAC are engaged and paid by the Committee on a daily basis.
2. You may be interested to know that, during the FAC's recent inquiry into Arms Control and East-West Relations, we suggested to the Committee the names of Sir Curtis Keeble, Sir Bryan Cartledge and Sir Julian Bullard.
