Sir T.L., however, and his colleagues, have to
sit with him. I do not. But he has performed
adequately for the last three months or so and I expect he will do so while his wife lives.
Sir T.L. made it clear to the Judge that he would prefer him to resign, with the Government being as generous as it can.
I remain of a softer view. I think he should be allowed to stay with regular checks on his physical condition and pressure on him to resign if he takes to drink again.
I have copied this letter to Sir T.L. Yang who has no changes to suggest.
