SCHEDULE

My resignation would take effect from either 1st January, 1989, or such period thereafter,

if necessary, as will enable me to join, and

benefit from, the new pension scheme which will apply to serving judges of the Supreme

Court.

(b)

(c)

The date at which I leave the service would

include my accumulated vacation leave, e.g. if I have three months' vacation leave due to

me, this would be taken before I depart from the service on 1st January, 1989 (or later).

During my period of service, I should not continue to sit in the Court of appeal, from such date as the Chief Justice may decide,

unless he so asks.

(a)

(e)

Until the effective date of my resignation, I should undertake such duties on or off the

bench as the Chief Justice may decide, including tasks which remain to be completed in accordance with the Robinson Report.

As I understand it, though I do not vouch for the exactness of the figures, I should be entitled to the following benefits, if my resignation occurs as from 1st January, 1989, though they would be somewhat larger if I

resign at a later date, and I decide to transfer to pensionable terms

(i) a gratuity of about $880,000, after I have repaid about $700,000 plus

(ii)

$100,000 interest.

a pension for life of about HK$10,000

a month.
