Public interest in Barker was revived in February this year when the current edition of the Hong Kong Law Journal appeared with serious criticisms of his performance in that case. There followed discussions between Sir D Roberts, Sir T L Yang and Mr Justice Barker and, in the event Barker offered his resignation to the Governor who has accepted it.
