THE BARKER INTERVIEW: NO, SIR, NO, SIR, NO!

Suggestions that former Carrian trial boss Mr Justice Barker would be resigning, if he ha not already tendered his resignation, were hotly denied today

himself!

by Mr Justice Barker

In a first-ever interview with TARGET, Mr Justice Barker, a strong supporter of a fre Press, and especially of TARGET, welcomed the opportunity to quash (this is one of hi favourite words) these scurrilous rumours.

Here is the unexpurgated version of the historic TARGET interview:

TARGET: Mr Justice Barker, Sir, is it true that you have tendered your resignation?

BARKER: No!

TARGET: Are you about to resign, Sir?

BARKER: NO !

TARGET: We have been reliably informed, Six, that your letter of resignation is now sil

ting on The Chief Justice's desk?

BARKER: No!

TARGET: Are you going to resign Mr Barker, siz?

BARKER: No!

TARGET: Do you think that you should continue in your position?

BARKER: Click brrrrrr... (so as not to confuse TARGET's readers, who might have though that Mr Justice Barker had now resorted to making silly noises, TARGET would like to mak it clear that this was the noise of the telephone. TARGET is sure that no High Cour Judge, and in particular no Appeal Court Judge, would ever make strange noises over th telephone, apart, that is, from the odd indignant grunt).

TARGET readers will, no doubt, be delighted to hear that Mr Justice Barker is stil appearing regularly at the Court of Appeal.
