Judicial Co-operation

The Governor has noticed an item in the BBC publication Summary of World Broadcasts (5 May 1987) about a Sino-French judicial co-operation agreement. Since such an agreement might apply to the HKSAR after 1997, and since we wish to explore all avenues for perpetuating such co-operation, it would be helpful if we could have a copy of the text of the agreement.

I enclose the relevant page from SWB and would be grateful if you could ask NTD or the Home Office for a copy of the text, if they have it. Otherwise I suppose Peking or Paris might be able to obtain a copy.

I shall be in London for a few days while on leave next month and may find time for a visit. Meanwhile thanks for any help you can give on this. Fred Burrows resumes duty here next week.
