SINO-FRENCH JUDICIAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT

1. I refer to a letter of 25 August 1987 to Mr Mike Hill of this department from the Acting Law Officer at the time, concerning the above agreement. I attach a copy for your reference.

2. I am sorry that it has taken so long to trace the French text of the agreement. I attach a copy of this; unfortunately we have not been able to trace the Chinese language version, perhaps Peking could help on this.

The agreement was published in an open parliamentary document of 5 November last year, when the Senate approved it. The law of ratification was promulgated on 10 December 1987.
