Place of origin : 97% have originated from 12 Southern-most provinces of Vietnam with the bulk from Mekong delta riparian provinces. 104 persons resided in various provinces in Kampuchea, only 6 originated in the

North. 5002 had come from Ho Chi Minh City.

Socio-economic background: 63% of this group are of urban background and

the rest (37%) of rural origin. Data on the professional background of

the group may be somewhat misleading as the higher age-brackets have given

their professions both before and after 1975. Thus the members of the

group had occupied, at various stages of their lives, two or three
