The Vietnamese side highly appreciated the initiatives
and positive contributions by Malaysia aimed at building a South-East
Asia of peace, freedom, neutrality, friendship, cooperation and
without nuclear weapons, and reiterated its willingness to cooperate
with Malaysia, as well as with all other countries in the region,
in realizing these initiatives.
8.
The two sides were pleased to note that there has been
significant progress in their relations of friendship and cooperation.
With a view to further strengthening their relations of friendship
and cooperation, the Vietnamese side proposed to set up a Joint -
Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation,
conduct annual political consultations between the two Foreign:
Ministries, and to send as soon as possible a Ministerial economic
delegation to Malaysia. The Malaysian side took note of these
proposals.
9.
The Malaysian Delegation expressed their sincere appreciation
for the kind hospitality extended them by the Vietnamese hosts.
