OTHER BUSINESS
(a) VIETNAMESE BOAT PEOPLE
The Political Adviser and the Secretary for Security briefed the Council on the arrangements made in response to the invitation from the Vietnamese Government to hold
talks on Vietnamese boat people. Members advised that
there would probably be community support for a
contribution by the Hong Kong Government to the UNHCR if
that was suggested as part of the price for repatriation.
