Daya Bay

I hope you had a nice trip back to Italy after your stopover visit in Hong Kong. May I again thank you for agreeing to visit us and for giving us extremely helpful advice on contingency planning.

As promised, I enclose for your information a summary of media reports and commentaries on the brief press session following your meeting with the LegCo Ad Hoc Group. Enclosed please also find for your record a copy of the programme of the visit which incorporates the names of officials and unofficials that you met during your stay in Hong Kong.

As you will recall, during the meeting

on 5 July, you met the departments involved in the preparation of the Daya Bay Contingency Plan. During this meeting, various contingency planning related issues, such as sheltering, water and food monitoring etc. were briefly discussed. We look forward to hearing from you further guidance that will facilitate our present task of formulating the Daya Bay Contingency Plan.
