2. Many apologise for not replying to these letters earlier. I have spoken to the head of Continental Asia Department here, Jorge Sobredo, who says that he only receives sporadic information from the Spanish Consulate in Hong Kong following joint liaison group meetings there. He said it would be most useful for him to receive texts of the communiques as well as some background information.

3. I presume you do not have anything in Spanish. I will therefore send Sobredo a translation of the communique from Joint Liaison Group X, along with some background based on FCO telno. 674. Perhaps in future, information could be sent directly to the Spanish Consulate in Hong Kong. If this proves difficult, please let me know.
