RELATIONS WITH PARLIAMENT: HONG KONG

Lord Glenarthur has agreed to hold a drinks party for Qovl

Parliamentarians interested in Hong Kong on the evening of 27 April.

1.

2. I submit a suggested guest list. We discussed what would be

the best format for the party, and agreed to aim for something

relatively small, permitting a structured discussion between

participants. I suggest that the optimum number would be between 12

and 15 guests, in addition to Mr Eggar and Mrs Bottomley if they

were available.

3. My proposed list contains just over 30 names, following PRU's

guidance that the acceptance rate is well under 50%. There is also

a short list of reserves. I have tried to keep an appropriate

balance between parties and between the two Houses of Parliament.

All those I list have an active interest in Hong Kong and nearly all

have participated in recent Parliamentary debates on the territory.
