Taipa City:
The plan is for a new development of low cost housing a commercial properties. Hopewell Holdings of Hong Kong (Gordon Wu) in association with STDM (Stanley Ho) have taken over a previous plan to develop the site. It will house 120,000 people. It is hoped to break ground later this year and to have the development completed in eight years.
Second Bridge between Taipa Island and Macao:
This would be essential for the proposed airport and for the Taipa City development. It might form part of a new road to the Chinese border which in turn could be linked to the Hopewell super highway project (this consists of a road from Shenzhen to Canton with a spur across the Pearl River and south to Zhuhai).
The key person in the Macao Administration for all these projects is Mr Luis Vasconcelos, the Secretary for Transport and Special Projects. His address is Government House, Macao. The British Consul General for Macao (who is the also the Senior Trade Commissioner resident in Hong Kong) would like to hear from any British companies interested in these projects. His address is9th Floor, Bank of America Tower, 12 Harcourt Road, Hong Kong.
J. Mr Luis Vasconcelos, Secretary for Transport and Special Projects, Government House, Macao.
