CONTROL OF PUBLICATIONS CONSOLIDATION (AMENDMENT)
19. Section 2 of the Smoking (Public Health) Ordinance is amended in the definition of ““newspaper”, “local newspaper" and "printed docu- ment" " by deleting "Control of Publications Consolidation" and substitut- ing the following-
"Registration of Local Newspapers".

An Ordinance to amend the Public Order Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Public Order (Amendment) Short title. Ordinance 1987.
2. Part V of the principal Ordinance is repealed and replaced by the Repeal and following-
replacement of Part V.

FALSE NEWS AND BOMB HOAXES
27. (1) Any person who publishes false news which is likely to cause alarm to the public or a section thereof or disturb public order shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable-
(a) on conviction on indictment, to a fine of $100,000
and to imprisonment for 2 years; and
(b) on summary conviction, to a fine of $30,000 and to
imprisonment for 6 months.
