Construction Progress Status

8th May, 1987

Important progress has been achieved in the construction of the

Guangdong Nuclear Power Station under the leadership and with the assistance of the State Council, Ministry of Nuclear Industry, Ministry of Water Resources and Electrical Power and the Guangdong Provincial

Government, the support of various sectors of the society, the

concerted efforts of every main contractor, as well as the joint

efforts of both the Chinese staff and staff from outside of China.

Letters of Intent for the three main contracts (i.e. Nuclear Island

Equipment Supply Contract, Conventional Island Equipment Supply

Contract and Project Services Contract) were signed on 17th April,

1986. Subsequently, these three contracts were officially signed in Beijing on 23rd September, 1986, followed by the notification on the

effectiveness of the contracts (i.e. Authorisation to Proceed) issued

by GNPJVC to the three main contractors on 7th October, 1986. The

construction progress status of the Power Station is hereby given

below.
