1.
I enclose a
copy of
a letter from Yaxley, Secretary for conomic Services in Hong Kong to David Levey at UKAEA, expressing concern at what appears to be a lack of recent information from Harwell regarding their consultancy agreement with the Hong Kong Government.
2.
As you know, the consultancy is an integral part of the Hong Kong Government's efforts to ensure the safety of Hong Kong and its people should an accident occur at the plant. You will also recall that the media both here and in Hong Kong focussed their attention last summer on the consultancy agreement on the basis of
of leaked information I wonder, therefore, if you could
establish when Harwell will be able to respond to Hong Kong's outstanding requests, whether there is anything more you or we can do to ensure that the consultancy project moves ahead as quickly and smoothly as possible
We would, of Course be happy to approach UKAEA ourselves if you thought that this would be useful.
3.
I would be most grateful for anything you can do to help.
