It is the responsibility of the contractor
to make sure that the finished job conforms with the specifications.
It is the Clerk of Works' responsibility to record and monitor the
progress of the works and to draw to the attention of the consultant
any defects or problems which he considers might result in defects.
MR CHUNG: No, I mean the actual supervision.

a very large team supervising the Stadium, including I think at least four members, four liaison officers, from the PWD Architectural
Office. We would also have in fact a senior Clerk of Works
employed direct by our office. He did occasional supervisory duties on the site. We had a structural engineer who was on call in the
event of any problems notified by the Clerk of Works. We had a project architect who was also available. We had regular weekly meetings at which the Architectural Office and the liaison team all
22 attended, so all in all it was quite a tightly supervised and
23 controlled site.

of a different design and specification, right. So don't you think it would be necessary for you as consultant to exercise more supervision and care in this case ?
