CCS: We have the capability to produce stock size uniforms. However, we could not take on the task immediately

if we were given it. It would take, I would guess, 18 months to two years before we could gear up to produce stock size uniforms

say offhand what will be required.

MR POON: Just one final question; I know that the disciplinary forces should look smart. In fact, in European

countries the traffic policewomen have their uniforms designed by top designers. But anyway, it is also true that the private sector may be more cost-effective in producing uniforms, but taking

into consideration what my honourable friend has just suggested,

is it possible to have their uniforms done by the contractors on

a programme and selective basis to get the right size ? Not just
