CCS: We have the capability to produce stock size uniforms. However, we could not take on the task immediately
if we were given it. It would take, I would guess, 18 months to two years before we could gear up to produce stock size uniforms

CCS: Offhand, I could not say, sir. I am sure there
would be staffing implications and additional plant required and
additional supervisory staff. It would have to be looked into

CCS: Well, as I say, sir, we would have to examine the
implications very thoroughly by expert staff and plan it most

CCS: Yes, and I think this would be looked into by the
working party who are going to examine the whole concept. I can't
say offhand what will be required.
MR POON: Just one final question; I know that the disciplinary forces should look smart. In fact, in European
countries the traffic policewomen have their uniforms designed by top designers. But anyway, it is also true that the private sector may be more cost-effective in producing uniforms, but taking
into consideration what my honourable friend has just suggested,
is it possible to have their uniforms done by the contractors on
a programme and selective basis to get the right size ? Not just
