His and Managing Director of Konysunlau Holdings Ltd. company is a very large textile company in Hong Kong and apart from his involvement with the Urban Council, Mr. Lau has for many years been an active member of the Textiles Advisory Board. Mr. Lau is an appointed member and a solid, reliable and hard-working member of the Council.
Dr. Philip Kwok Chi-kuen, JP

Dr. Kwok is by training a nuclear physicist, having a Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University. He is Chairman of the Wing On Group of Companies, which is a very large and established group in Hong Kong and formerly in Shanghai. However, comapny over the last few years has had some financial problems. He is actively involved in the World Wildlife Fund and the YMCA, as well as Hong Kong Amateur Karate Federation. He is also an active tennis player. appointed member of the Council since 1980.
Mr. Walter M. Sulke, OBE, JP

Mr. Sulke Is a non-Executive Director of the Zung Fu Company. He was a Jewish refugee from the East Europe as a youngster prior to the Second World War and has since 1946 been working either In Shanghai or Hong

is an activist in environmental protection and has very strong opinions on a variety of subjects which he is not frightened to express. (Mr. Sulke has just had very serious health problems and may or may not be able to see Lord Glenarthur.)
Mr. Kwan Lim-ho
Mr. Kwan is a solicitor by profession who was elected to the Urban Council in 1983. He is currently Chairman of the Council's Food Hygiene Select Committee.
Mr. Joseph Chan Yuek-sut
Mr. Chan is a Principal of a Government- subsidized school in Aberdeen. He is very active in affairs concerning his own district of Aberdeen and very involved in school and Roman Catholic Church activities In that area. He is currently Chairman of the Council's Libraries Select Committee.

Mr. Pao has had training in town planning and currently claims to be unemployed, although he has in fact recently been appointed a Director of the Oriental Daily Group of Newspapers. He has been very involved in social welfare and community service matters over many years. was elected to the Council in 1983.
