that the Environmental Protection Department of R.K.
would be very willing to liaise with relevant
departments in Guangdong, particularly in Shenzhen, on
environmental matters.

To wind up the discussion, Vice-Governor Yang remarked
that the ODE ana a half day's exchange of development
information between the 2 governments had definitely
enabled better understanding of each other's problems
and potentials. These should be very helpful in drawing
up appropriate strategies for future development.
Though the final decision or development issues would
lie with each individual government, the exchange of
information would broaden the other's horizon and
process.

As explained during their presentations,
projections were based or previous trends. They would
therefore reed to be reviewed and adjusted against the
economic performance and development directions approved
by the State. Therefore, it vas recessary to exchange
information through multiple channels on a more regular
basis. Nevertheless, the present meeting indicated a
good beginning for future cooperation.
